HCMRS

The Society was formed as Hampton & District Model Railway Society in 1963 at Percy Road School in Hampton. In 1966 we moved to the former Station Master's flat at Hampton Court Station and changed our name to the current title. Here we built our first exhibition layout "Hampton Magna".

In 1978 we moved to Thames Ditton and started work on three new Exhibition Standard layouts. In Spring 1995 we completed the move to our present venue, the Tolworth Recreation Centre, Fullers Way North, Tolworth, Surrey. Recent projects include layouts in OO, EM, OO9 and 2mm. Our members have an extensive range of interests including Ready-to-Run, Kit and Scratch-building in English, Continental and American styles, Standard or Narrow-gauge.

We meet every Sunday evening from 8pm to 10-30pm and in addition to our layout building activities we try to organise a talk, slide show, or visit once a month.

Hampton Court M.R.S. is always pleased to welcome new members and we feel that our relatively small membership allows a more friendly atmosphere. The Society is very active on the exhibition circuit and, in addition we organise our own show each year.

The Society's Exhibition, Tolworth Showtrain is held each November at the Tolworth Recreation Centre and is now well established.

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 13, and those under 16 years old or still in full time education pay the junior reduced rates.
